To Add a new column in CrossTab Datawindow without changing the layout the most efficient way is to use Edit Source. Following are the steps.

1. Go to EditSource mode of the Datawindow
2. Add the Colum Definition:
3. Add the column on SQL
4. Add the sorting
5. Create the Column parameters
6. Create the header parameters
7. Add the column name to , columns and sources and "sprase" at the end of the Edit source.
8. Save the Changes. That's it.
